Day 1: Arrival

Arrive at airport where you will be met by Super Africa Wildlife Adventure Safaris representative and be transfer to your hotel in the city. Pre departure meeting in the hotel.

Day 2: Nairobi/Lake Naivasha

Meet for breakfast in the Hotel restaurant at 7.30 or at pax's leisure. (Food at pax own expense). The food is good here. The bus to Naivasha will depart from the front of the hotel, across the road at 11.00 am. (The tix will be booked by Oti, but a good idea to confirm with him the day before) Drive through rich Kikuyu farmland to the edge of the Rift Valley, Ascend the escarpment and drive via Great rift valley view points. We stop here for photographs. You will continue driving towards one of the great rift valley fresh water lakes (Lake Naivasha) and at lunch time you will stop at the 'Silver Hotel' in Naivasha town at around 12.30pm Here the group will have the opportunity to buy some local food of their own choice from the local vendors (maybe with assistance from the leader) Today you will use the local transport from Nairobi to Naivasha town. The afternoon will be free time to wander around a 'non-touristy' town where the pax can do some shopping, internet or just unwind after departing the busy and edgy Nairobi.

Day 3: Green Crater Lake Walk

Breakfast will be at 7.00 am and you will be picked up by a driver from Super Africa Wildlife Adventure Safaris at 8.00am. The road to the Green Crater Lake takes you out of Naivasha and along a rough and bumpy road down the edge of lake Naivasha , passing by huge Greenhouses where roses and other flowers are grown for the export market. You will arrive at the Green Crater Lake at 9.30am approx and you will begin your morning game walk. The green crater lake was formed by volcanic activity. The group will walk in a reserve where its possible to get up close to Giraffe and many varieties of antelope.it's a great opportunity for photos.The guides will answer questions about the animals, birdlife etc and point out the rocks formed due to the volcanic activity.   At 12.00pm you will leave for lunch at 'Fishermans camp' about 20 mins back down the road toward Naivasha town.This lunch will be supplied by KWSS and will be prepared by their cook.

Fishermans camp is a lovely camp on the shore of Lake Naivasha and has a large resident bird population inc Ibis, superb starlig. Lovebirds, fisheagle and Hoopoe and is a great opportunity to see the Black and White colobusmonkey.After lunch you will have some free time. You could sit back at the campsite bar and enjoy a cold drink and a game of pool or participate in some optional activities like cycling around the village or hire a small power boat for a trip out on to the lake.   An option worth considering for inclusion in the Itin.   Elsamere, the home of the late Joy and George Adamson is just a few klms away. Joy is famous for her book 'Born Free' and was an artist of some note. For an entry fee of Ksh 500 per pax (approx USD$7) they get to visit the small museum, watch a documentary video of their life and then sit in the lovely gardens beside the lake and enjoy an afternoon tea of beautiful cakes, scones and slices and tea and coffee. Elsamere opens at 3.30pm and I recommend INCLUDING this option. It will take about 2 hours.

Day 4: Naivasha/Lake Nakuru N. Park

Breakfast in the morning will be at 8.00am (supplied) and you will then depart at 9.00am We will stop at the Lake Elementeita viewpoint then continue into Nakuru stopping off at the hotel to drop off the pax's bags etc. Once checked in the car will take the group into town to get themselves some lunch and have a look around. There is a great curio market in town so pax will be free to wander around the market and enjoy a their lunch. At around 2.00-2.30 pm we will be driven to Menegai Crater just 30mins drive up a bumpy road. The crater rim is 2490m above seal level and offers terrific views of Lake Nakuru and Lake Bogoria . You can spend as little or as long as you like here before heading towards one of the world famous Rift Valley Lakes , Lake Nakuru, that is the home of possibly a million Flamingos and over 460 different species of birds both migratory and local. (During adverse weather this activity is impossible due to the vehicle not being able to get up to the crater rim)

Day 5: Nakuru National Park

We will be up early and leave the Hotel at around 6.00am so we can arrive at the park entry gate by 6.30. We will do game drive looking for the elusive Leopard before enjoying a brunch in the park We will then continue on in search of Black and white rhino, lion, buffalo, impala, Thompson gazelle and warthog. The park is famous for its introduced Rothchild giraffe and healthy leopard population, not to mention possibly the most incredible bird spectacle on the planet, the massive numbers of greater and lesser flamingo. At the 16.30 hrs you will drive towards the park exit gate en-route to your hotel.

Day 6: Nakuru /Bogoria /Baringo

Breakfast will be at 6.30am then you will check out from the hotel at 7.30am You will be driven to Lake Baringo which is famous for its abundant birdlife. More than 450 of Kenya 's recorded 1200 bird species have been sighted here. The lake also contains Crocodile and hippo. Before you reach Baringo you will stop at Lake Bogoria at around 9.00am. There will be a local guide to show pax around for a couple of hours. Bogoria is a popular stopover for its hot,warm and cold geyser springs which where formed due to volcanic activities.You will stop here for a picnic lunch at noon and then continue on to Lake Baringo , arriving at approx 2.30 Overnight at the picturesque Roberts campsite. Optional activity this afternoon is a boat ride in the lake looking for birdlife and hippos. A boat costs approx $USD30 and holds 8 pax. All todays Meals are included. 

Day 7: Baringo/Kakamega Forest

Breakfast today will be at 6.30. We board the vehicle and drive towards the western part of the country pass Kitale town, an included picnic lunch is en-route. We will arrive at Kakamega forest at approx2.00pm-3.00 Kakamega is a beautiful piece of virgin tropical rainforest. It is home to a huge variety of birds (more than 330 species recorded) Casqued hornbills and Ross's touracos and great blue touracos are found here and it is the only place apart from Mt Elgon where the rare De Brazza's monkey can be found. Other monkey species living here are the Blue monkey, red tailed monkey and the black and white colobus. butterfly and the blue monkey. We camp at UNDO campsite. At 16.00 hrs we will go for guided our evening walk with Super Africa Wildlife and Adventure Safaris guide. At 1800hrs you will have returned to the campsite for dinner Overnight at Undo campsite ( All meals included).Approx 300kms driving   http://kakamegarainforest.com/rates.html

Day 8: Kakamega Forest/Kisumu

Breakfast will be at 6.30am.You will go for morning walk in the forest at 7.30am accompanied by the ranger guide, until 10.00am. We then pack and check out. We are then driven to third biggest city in Kenya (Kisumu) Arrive at Kisumu at 12.00 approx Kisumu is an important port city on the shore of Lake Victoria , the third biggest freshwater lake in the world. The group will have time to walk along the lake side and enjoy the local food like Nyamachoma(roasted meat), kuku choma (roasted chicken), and fish choma (roasted fish) just to name a few. This area is home to the second biggest tribe in the country, the Luo. Overnight at Kisumu Hotel. Breakfast included, Approx 50kms driving  

Day 9: Kisumu/Homabay

Breakfast (included) will be at 7.30 am. Depart the hotel at 9.00am and head deep into a more traditional side of Kenya. You will be driven to visit the crying stone "kit mikai" (arriving about 40 mins later) the stone is said to be crying because it 'produces' water the year round, secondly the shape of stone is very different from the other stones in the area. The locals believe the stone to be a blessing to them and a visit to it is like a receiving medicine. (Breast feeding mothers who have problems with their breasts or milk supply are regular visitors;-)). This activity takes about 2 hrs. We return to Kisumu for lunch (included) After lunch you will be driven to the southern part of lake Victoria to a village called Homabay, arriving at approx 5.00pm-6.00pm Overnight at Homabay hotel Meals inc. Breakfast and lunch Approx 200kms driving  

Day 10 (This needs to be a school day, School open Mon-Sat ) Homabay/Magina Village 

Breakfast will be at 8.00 with Kenya Walking Survivors Safaris driver and you will depart at 9.00 and be driven to the local village, called Magina, where you will visit the local school and homestead where you will see a 'real life' side of the Africa. Today you will be free wander amongst the villagers and see normal rural African life. Try and strike up a conversation with the locals and enjoy the day   Overnight and dinner at a genuine African homestead (Oti's family) and enjoy a home prepared local meal and the Luo tribes-peoples way of life LUO TRIBE   Camping at a local family home Driving approx25kms Meals include Breakfast Lunch and dinner 

Day11: Magina Village/Kisii

Breakfast at approx 8.00 am, You will be free to walk in the village until lunch time. After lunch you will pack your bags and be driven to Kisii, the land of great coffee and tea farming. Kisii is the center of the region known as the Gusii Highlands, home of the Gusii people. The Gusii people number approx 1 million and are a Bantu speaking people. Lunch will be a pax expense bought locally en-route. You will arrive in Kisiimid afternoon in time for banking etc if required. Hotel arrival should be around 1500 hrs. KISII HOTEL for overnight and dinner. Driving approx 45kms Meals include Breakfast and dinner 

Day 12: Kisii/Kericho

Breakfast at 8.00am then you will be driven to Kericho, departing the hotel at 9.00am and arriving at Kericho at approx 11.00am. Kericho takes its name from the Maasai chief Ole Kericho who was killed by the Gusii people in the 18 th century. Kericho is the tea capital of western Kenya. Kenya is the world's 3rd largest tea exporter (After India and Sri lanka) and tea accounts for 20-30% of the country's export income. The town is surrounded by acres of rolling green tea plantations. The bushes are picked on a rotational bases and each bush is picked every 17 days, usually by the same workers. Good pickers can collect up to 100kg of leaf a day! The afternoon is free. A great optional activity here is the tea plantation walk where pax are guided around a plantation and given information on all facets of tea growing and picking. It takes approx 2 hrs and costs around $2 USD The people in this area are predominately of the 'Kalenjin" tribe

Day 13: Kericho / Nairobi

Breakfast is at 8.00. The group will depart the hotel at 9.00 and proceed to Nairobi with Super Africa Wildlife Adventure Safaris driver. You will get you buffet lunch en-route in Naivasha after lunch you will continue to Nairobi arriving late afternoon
